beach week begins
as part of my rough and really rough job [obviously a joke] i head out to holland state park to camp for the next 10 nights while the seniors our out there for beach week. it’s the tradition here that seniors camp the week they graduate and when i got here they thought it would be a great way to get to know students if i went out and was available at the campground. by the way, the picture above isn’t quite accurate. i have to rough it in someone’s 30 foot motor home. tear!
i love this time of year because it seems like you can actually spend time with students and they are not as stressed about school and life and will open up and share more about what is going on in their lives. plus they are just a bit more available and have time to go on a trip or hang out.
so it’s time for smores, campfires, fishin’, frisbee and a lot of fun. we do a few dinners, ice cream nights, a breakfast, fishing tournament and a bunch of other stuff for the seniors and also the middle school students, parents and underclassmen. good times!
so if you’re in the area, come by for a smore.
